The Institute for Research and European Studies is an independent, nonpartisan and nonprofit organization founded by enthusiastic scholars and researchers based in Bitola (Republic of North Macedonia), also known as “The City of Consuls”. The Institute for Research and European Studies is determined to achieve applied, policy-oriented research, to enable various models of informal education, and to promote discussion on the most pressing and contemporary political, legal, security and economic issues regarding liberty, European and International Affairs. The multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research of The Institute for Research and European Studies includes Individual liberty; Libertarianism; Liberalism; Objectivism; Capitalism; Anarchism; Democracy; Political Anthropology; International relations and diplomacy; Public and private international law; Geopolitics; Nationalism; Multilateralism; Ideology; Politics and religion; Neo-Ottomanism; Yugosphere; Propaganda; Regional cooperation; European federalism; EU law and politics; European economic governance; EU foreign and security policy; Competitive federalism; Comparative constitutional law; Human rights and liberties; Gender studies; Emerging powers (BRICS; Russia; China; India etc.); Transatlantic relations and other related topics, that contribute to the understanding of liberty and international affairs from different angles. Also, The Institute for Research and European Studies is devoted to researching and analyzing Balkan issues, especially the attitude of the Balkan countries towards EU integration. It is important to emphasize that The Institute for Research and European Studies work gives special attention to the research and analysis of the place and role of the EU in the new international context.

The Institute for Research and European Studies work is based on pure academic research, with a tendency to achieve the highest research and publishing standards.

The Institute for Research and European Studies is a member of the Economic Freedom Network, co-publisher of Economic Freedom of the World, and a member of The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). Also, The Institute for Research and European Studies has endorsed the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct.
